A 3-minute interactive guide to help patients confidently self-inject using the Zepbound KwikPen. Built and delivered in under 4 weeks for FDA review.
- Client: Global pharma company
- Role: UX/UI designer from early planning to final Figma prototype
- Goal: Replace a static 11-minute video with an engaging training experience
- Result: 100% user success rate
Patients struggled with key steps like priming, dosing, and injection timing. The original video was too long, hard to follow, and not interactive. We had less than 4 weeks to design something clear, testable, and FDA-compliant.
Fully animated, scroll-based guide mimicking the real pen experience.

I led the design from concept to prototype:
- Translate the pen demo into clear, interactive steps
- Lead Miro explorations and define pain points with the client
- Wireframe key screens and moments of user friction
- Prototype the full experience in Figma
- Partner with the 3D team to guide animation pacing and interactions
Process
- Started with a live pen demo and firsthand exploration
- Identified key friction points using a collaborative Miro board
- Created wireframes in Figma, focusing on interactivity and ease
- Partnered with 3D artists to plan motion cues for each step
- Conducted frequent QA and live reviews to validate pacing, flow, and usability
Mid-fidelity wireframes to define critical user actions and flows
Solution
Created a 3-minute interactive prototype that replaced passive watching with hands-on learning. Built in Figma, it guided users through the KwikPen process with simple visuals, audio cues, and quick knowledge checks.
- Mid-fidelity prototype with clickable interactions
- Embedded quizzes to test understanding
- 3D visuals and audio to reinforce key steps
- Clear, approachable microcopy based on FDA-approved content
Outcome
- 100% success rate during FDA Human Factors Testing
- Positive usability feedback from users and stakeholders
- Delivered within 4 weeks and used as a scalable training model
- Final prototype approved for FDA submission and commercial rollout
